Today I headed into work earlier than I absolutely need to and had originally intended to read while relaxing in the massage chair. However, a woman on the bus commented to her daughter that it was such a beautiful day and I thought, “you know, she’s right!”
So instead, I headed down to the waterfront to spend 20 or 30 minutes meditating by the harbour like I’ve done before. It’s a great way to shake off anything that’s bugging you, and it’s also a nice start to the day.
When I first got there I found that Theodore the Tugboat is participating in Movember this year. Way to go Theodore!
How cute is that?
Then I got down by the water where it was just lovely.
Alas, it was not conducive to meditation with the demolition going on as they tore down an old building.
It’s not impossible, I suppose, if you’re good at it but I didn’t quite think I could empty my mind and focus on my breathing while all of this was going on directly behind me.
Unfortunately I didn’t have quite enough time to walk all the way to the end of the boardwalk and then back again so instead I stood around filming it and talking about how cool it was with a woman who was visiting the city; we bonded over the fact that we were both standing there filming way.
It wasn’t a relaxing way to start the morning. It was pretty cool though!
