I’ve thought about what to say about the tragic and senseless shooting at the elementary school on Newtown. As someone who is compelled to write I felt like I should somehow put my feelings into words. The truth is, there are no words that I can find tonight to do justice when 20 children are dead in something that doesn’t even make sense.
When Marc Lepine killed 14 women at the Polytechnique massacre in Montreal back in 1989, this song became a bit of an anthem. Maybe it will work where all the words don’t tonight.
I hugged my babies extra hard tonight. My heart breaks for the parents who didn’t have that luxury.
